David Collin has taken advantage of the fine Spring weather we are having in the UK to fit some minor stowage modifications to Speedwell the Bridgend Romilly he completed himself from a kit around 10 years ago.
David sails mostly single handed around Kirkcudbright Bay in SW Scotland and he clearly likes to be very well organised. Knowing exactly where your reefing pennants are is very important when you need to reef quickly and you are out there on your own.
“The two bins at the forward ends of the side seats are for the main halyard and the reefing pennants.”
“A single small bolt through each of the side benches secures the halyard/pennant bins.”
“The small stern locker fits under the aft cockpit seat, and is just big enough to hold binoculars, thermos flask, camera, sandwiches, and VHF radio. All essentials for single handed sailors!”
“The stern locker simply jams into place without any fixings.”
