In an earlier Article Errit Bekkering who has a lovely inboard engined Romilly that he sails on the Waddenzee needed beaching legs.
Errit was averse to drilling the hull in order to fit the beaching legs and this has produced an interesting solution.
Errit says “I have found a practical solution to the problem – two oak planks with holes plus some straps. I have connected the two with a chain under the keel so they won’t float (see pictures). In stronger currents the legs sometimes end-up at an angle but most of the time it works fine and we can sleep
horizontally.
Big advantage: no holes in your boat and the planks have double use as a kind of table. “
